Do It Without You returns to Folklore, Hoxton on Tuesday 18th June with three rising artists Annika Kilkenny, Dominic Wright and Seth Gauton.

Growing up in a musical family in County Kilkenny, Ireland, singer/songwriter Annika Kilkenny’s first musical love was the piano. Taking lessons from her auntie, it wasn’t long before she was exploring on her own and making her own compositions. Writing her first lyrics in notebooks she kept close to her chest, after some encouragement from friends Annika showcased her skills winning first place at a regional talent competition. Finding joy in creating warm and cosy songs which tell stories of self-acceptance and personal growth, Annika is inspired by the likes of Lizzy McAlpine, Laufey and Emily Bear and can be found using social media as her sketchbook for new musical ideas.

Already boasting a significant social following, Brighton based artist Dominic Wright is set to pull listeners even deeper under his spell with a debut EP that confirms his status as one of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming songwriters.

Music has always provided an important emotional release for Dominic. Raised in London until his parents’ divorce, guitar quickly became a lifeline. Indeed, painstakingly figuring out his heroes’ songs on guitar proved a crucial outlet for much of his nervous energy, though at 16 he was expelled and opted to move to Brighton where he studied at BIMM.

For his debut EP, Ghosts, Dominic spent most of 2023 in the studio with his principal creative partner Ewan Merritt of Bad Sounds (Arlo Parks, Rose Gray). Together they brought Dominic’s music to life as evidenced on lead single ‘I’ll Be Alright’, a hauntingly atmospheric acoustic ballad with shades of Alex G and Big Thief.

Living in South East London, Seth graduated with the renowned Popular Music degree from Goldsmiths, University of London where he was shortlisted for the Rob Stringer songwriting scholarship. Taking advice from those working in the industry, Seth began forming a solo project that would be intentionally centred around his voice; consciously crafting melodies that could express his tone and range whilst orchestrating the instrumentation around him in a way that elevated the vocals.
